We are training the next generation of football players, cheerleaders, and mascots. We strive to teach skills, integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, leadership, and good sportsmanship. We teach proper hitting and tackling techniques - with an emphasis on safety.
DC Jr. Cougars is a non-profit organization organized for the charitable and educational purposes of:
(a) To instill permanently in the youth of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, discipline, self-respect, and respect for authority and others so that they may become well-adjusted, stronger, and happier young people who will grow to be good, decent, healthy, and trustworthy citizens.
(b) To familiarize players with the fundamentals of Tackle Football AND Cheerleading, to provide an opportunity to play the game in a supervised, organized, and safety-oriented manner, and to keep the welfare of participants free of any adult ambitions and personal glory.
WIN OR LOSE - WE PLAY WITH PRIDE!

Established in 2006, the Del Campo Junior Cougars (DCJC) is a nonprofit youth football and cheer organization serving school-aged athletes throughout the greater Carmichael and Citrus Heights area. As a direct feeder program to Del Campo High School Athletics, DCJC is committed to providing safe, equal-opportunity athletics shaped by dedicated parent volunteers and strong community support. We believe this foundation develops respectful, responsible young athletes who positively represent our community.
Affiliated with Sacramento Youth Football (SYF), DCJC serves athletes from 8U through 14U. Our mission is to instill sportsmanship, honesty, courage, loyalty, and respect while actively teaching and developing youth in our community into skilled football and cheer athletes.

All coaches at all levels will be trained on the USA Football Heads Up Concussion and Heat Stroke Awareness.
Several DCJC staff are CPR and First Aid certified, and board members and all coaches must pass a full background check in order to become an SYF certified coach. Our teams will have a systematic approach to practice scheduling to keep the focus on technique, skill, and knowledge development to improve technique and confidence before contact. Cheer and Football are physical sports, and nobody can ever guarantee an injury-free experience, but all of our practices at all levels will focus on developmentally appropriate drills and progressions to maximize development and minimize unnecessary contact and risk.
